We will be listing here different tools & resources that can be used for email marketing.

First, we will start by listing WordPress plugins that can be installed and used for creating a newsletter list and managing it:

Free Newsletter plugins like:
– Newsletter – it offers a nice interface, user management, subscription forms for WP, multiple lists, use of WP mail function or external SMTP services. Double opt-in ready. No auto-responders. Manual bounce management. Locked content.
– MailPoet – quick mail management, limited to 2000 subscribers, use of WP mail function or external SMTP services. Auto-responders integrated.

Paid Newsletter plugins like:
– Mailster – this is a professions plugin that can be used as complete newsletter system: multiple lists, different confirmations for each list registration, double opt-in ready, use of WP mail function or external SMTP services, settings on email delivery (delay between emails..), subscription forms both for WP and for external websites, auto-responders with different settings, automatic processing of bouces

When managing large number or subscribers, would be best to use external SMTP services that can help you delivering large number of emails and keep you a clean record:
– SendGrid
– Amazon SES
– Mandrill
